The day was May 3rd, 2019 and love was in the air. It was a perfect day in Palos Verdes, California for a wedding. Natalie was a bridesmaid and Miguel was a friend of the groom. Neither of them knew it yet but this was the beginning of something earth shaking in their lives.  

 

Enamored by her smile, Miguel decided to introduce himself to Natalie. The two talked and spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor. Miguel was so smitten by Natalie that her mom, who was also in attendance, had to ask her, “Who’s that guy following you around all night?”

 

Shortly after that magical night they planned their first date in Santa Monica. The couple bonded over their mutual love of food, traveling and concerts. Deep in conversation during dinner there was a pause, a silence, a stillness, no rather a shaking in the restaurant. 

 

Could this be the sparks of love in the air? They each thought. 

 

No, in actuality it was an earthquake. The couple watched as the chandelier swung in circles above their heads and patrons sat in confusion and slight fear. They had just survived their first tremor together and unbeknownst to them, their fate was sealed. Nothing in this world was going to rattle them apart.
